FUTUREKIDS maintains a staff of researchers and educators dedicated to providing effective and efficient technology/education lesson plans and teaching strategies with a full scope and sequence by grade and ability level. FUTUREKIDS provides curricula for the following educational needs:
FUTUREKIDS has been teaching technology to children since 1983 and now does this in over 100 countries around the world. The core product/service of FUTUREKIDS is our Student Technology Curriculum. Some of the benefits of this curriculum are as follows:
It contains over 400 specific learning objectives.
Technology is integrated into the academic content of social studies, language arts, mathematics and science.
The curriculum teaches skills at the appropriate age/grade level and continually reinforces this learning.
Skills are assessed at regular intervals.
Lessons involve active projects that involve and excite the kids.
Additionally, the curriculum contains ways for you to easily communicate with parents so they see and understand the exciting educational experience you are providing to their children.
Each year, five curricular units are written for use by schools. The units are designed to be implemented in a sequential manner. Each unit builds upon the technology skills, learning objectives and content unit builds upon the technology skills, learning objectives, and content knowledge introduced during previous units.
The effectiveness of FUTUREKIDS curriculum is enhanced by an educational methodology that revolves around hands-on instruction. The goal is to teach computer literacy skills by having students create practical projects using a variety of standard computer application software while, at the same time, fostering a challenging, academic environment.
A FUTUREKIDS Curriculum answer these questions:
What skills should be taught?
At what age should each specific skill be taught?
What is the most effective and efficient way to teach these skills?
How do we assess whether the child has learned the skill?
What skills can a teacher expect students to possess?
How do we make this interesting and exciting?
How do we show our programs to the parents and the community?
Educational Return-on-Investment
Technology offers wonderful opportunities to excite children with dynamic learning situations. However, teaching technology to students and integrating technology into regular classroom lessons calls for very specific expertise and tools. A question to ask is, "After all our technology expenditures, is anything great happening?"
FUTUREKIDS is dedicated to helping schools dramatically increase the educational return-on-investment.
