Grades 9-12
Technology training is fast becoming an integral part of every school's curriculum. Many states have or are beginning to set new standards for graduating high school students, requiring them to be computer literate. And educators are now faced with the challenge of finding effective ways to infuse technology into academic curriculum. Enter FUTUREKIDS, a proven partner in helping students and teachers master the power of the computer. FUTUREKIDS Technology Essentials Curriculum: Technology Essentials is written with a school-to-work focus for students in grades 9-12. All units incorporate a multitude of learning objectives and are designed to teach students critical skills in the following ten technology areas:
Additionally, Technology Essentials contains more advanced graphics, telecommunications and programming units. All units include project-based activities that feature job-related scenarios. Professional Development Training for High School Teachers FUTUREKIDS also offers professional development training for high school teachers. Training is conducted in small groups (no more than 12 participants) with an emphasis on personalized instruction. Classes are engaging and challenging. Teachers, regardless of skill level, can quickly acquire basic computer skills in the same ten technology areas incorporated into the Technology Essentials curriculum. With these skills, teachers are equipped to discover new, innovative ways to enhance lesson plans, making the learning process more exciting for themselves and their students. Futurekids curriculum standards meet or exceed governmental standards in all fifty states. The curriculum linkages to NETS, ISTE standards, Illinois Learning Standards and the Missouri Show-Me Standards are shown in the following PDF files.
